The thought of your first driving lesson may be quite exciting or frightening.

Have no worries, the Chesterfield Driving School instructors will give you all the time you need. If you have never sat behind the wheel of a car your instructor will not expect you to get in and drive at the start of the first lesson. They will start on a nice quiet stretch of road and talk you through the basic controls and how to use them.

The driving school cars have dual-controls which means that your instructor can control the car in an emergency or just help you out.

Your early lessons will concentrate on the skills of car control. Your instructor will progress at a rate suitable for you. In further lessons you will cover other subjects such as:

1. The emergency stop.
2. How to switch on the cars head lights, windscreen wipers, hazard lights etc.
3. Driving in different road, traffic and weather conditions.
4. Turning the car in the road.
5. Reversing the car.
6. Parking the car.
